  1. Just one month prior to the Hard Rock PNIA action, Mercier had proposed to poker pro Natasha Barbour at the 2016 World Series of Poker.Barbour had just been eliminated in 3rd place in a $5,000 NLHE event when the romantic Mercier hopped over the rail, embraced his girlfriend, and dropped to one knee while producing an engagement ring and popping the question.
  2. Brady used to be a tournament pro and through those years accumulated over $2,700,000 in tournament earnings. Now though, with a wife, Esther Taylor-Brady, and a daughter, he primarily focuses his attention on cash games as they fit into his busy family schedule better than multi-day events.

Former WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship final table member Esther Taylor is back in town after a great summer in Las Vegas. She popped the World Series of Poker for eight cashes, four final tables, and nearly $700,000 in payouts. Taylor’s success came in different variants including the Tag-Team tournament, H.O.R.S.E., Omaha/8 Stud/8, No Limit Hold’em/Pot Limit Omaha mix, Limit Hold’em, and the $25,000 Pot Limit Omaha High Roller that saw her finish in third place for $543,000.

Not a bad way to spend a few weeks in Vegas.

On behalf of the entire Will OC Media team, we thank you for following the Rivers Poker blog during the Pittsburgh Poker Open. In total, over a dozen main event champions were crowned throughout the record breaking series and the passion, excitement and enthusiasm that we saw from everyone that participated in the PPO series was amazing.

The series culminated with the Poker Night in America Main Event, which was fittingly won by Pittsburgh native John Kulp. The PPO Points Champion was Nicholas Immekus, who had one of the best PPO series to date, claiming two titles and making half a dozen final table appearances. As mentioned, this was a record breaking series, as Event 17’s 414 player field was the biggest to ever come together at Rivers.

That number is because of so many different things but mainly it’s because of the love that the Rivers Poker community has for the PPO series. We’d like to thank those players, who made it easy and enjoyable to watch and follow throughout each and every tournament.

Thank you to friends, families and poker fans who followed the blog; we hopefully put out a product that was easy to read, informative, and gave you the feeling that you were right in the middle of the PPO action.

Thank you to the tournament staff, dealers and tournament directors. Every tournament was run like a well oiled machine and throughout the series, the entire Rivers Poker team showed nothing but professionalism.

And lastly, a huge thank you to the people behind the scenes throughout the Pittsburgh Poker Open. The marketing team, the social media team, the IT department, the Poker Night in America live streaming and production teams. Without everyone mentioned above, the PPO would not have been what it was.
